November is here, and we’re beginning to turn our thoughts to Christmas at Gist, starting with preparations for the Christmas market at Hopetoun House later this month.
There’s something lovely about getting ready for a market. It’s a chance to step away from the day-to-day, bring our jewellery together and think about how we’d like to share it with you in person. There’s plenty to organise before we get there, but it’s also one of the things we look forward to at this time of year.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be choosing the pieces to bring along and getting everything ready for our little corner of the market, in the Ballroom I believe. The aim is to make it easy to have a browse, take a closer look and find something that feels just right, whether it’s a present for someone you love or a little something for yourself.
While I’m organising stock for the market, I’ll also be starting work on our spring/summer 2027 collection. We may bring along a few new designs to try out and see what you think. It’s always lovely to hear your thoughts in person, and your response will help shape what comes next.
Jewellery can be such a personal gift. Perhaps you’re choosing a colour that reminds you of a friend, looking for something your mum would wear every day, or spotting a pair of earrings you know your sister would love. Those little connections are part of what makes choosing a gift special.
And that’s the joy of meeting you at markets. You can see the colours up close, ask questions and tell us who you’re buying for. We love hearing the stories behind your choices, and it’s always lovely to meet the people who give our pieces a home.
